P. Hines, Jr.
Born
and raised in Florida, Jim
received his undergraduate degree from Stetson
University
and
his law degree from Regent
University.
Jim has had two professional articles published to date, The Use of Special Needs Trusts by Tort Award Recipients, The
Hillsborough County Bar Association Lawyer, June, 1998, and Special
Needs Trusts Are Now Available for Persons Over the Age of 65,
The Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers Journal, 1998.
He
co-authored an article with his brother, Robert D. Hines,
Preparing An Estate Plan – What a Parent of a Special Needs
Child Should Consider,
Bright Feats Magazine, Spring of 2008 Edition.
Jim was co-chairperson for the Elder
Law Section of the Hillsborough County Bar Association for two
years, he has been on the Board of Directors for the Sun City
Center Area Chamber of Commerce since 1996, and he is pro bono
counsel for the Guardianship Foundation in Hillsborough
County.
Jim was previously nominated for and chosen as a finalist
for the prestigious Moral Courage Award, which recognizes
outstanding citizens of
Hillsborough
County.
He has been appointed to the American Red Cross Planned Giving
Committee for Hillsborough County.
