Special Needs Trusts - Medicaid Planning

Individuals who are “disabled” for purposes of Social Security can qualify to be the beneficiary of a “Special Needs Trust.”

Through the use of Special Needs Trusts, assets can be allocated for the use and benefit of a beneficiary without disqualifying the beneficiary from governmental benefits, such as Medicaid and Supplemental Security Income.

Often established for the victims of an injury or accident, Special Needs Trusts can be implemented in most any situation where the intended beneficiary is disabled, allowing for unique planning opportunities for relatives of disabled individuals.
